People Watching At The Courthouse

Took the day off today. Jeff had a court date downtown in Pittsburgh traffic court. The extra hour sleep we got this weekend came in handy since we had to be up, downtown, parked, and in court by 8:30. It went well, Jeff had to stand in front of who we swear was the reincarnation of Thurgood Marshall, seriously spitting image, for about ten seconds. I didn't get to yell "I object, he's to cute to go to jail" because he got a break on his speeding ticket and had it knocked down to 5 mph over which is no points which reallywas the goal of going to court. And he gets a refund of $20 on the fine he already paid.

But if you like people watching and judging like we do, court is the place to be. Young, old, rich, poor, players, player haters, yinzers, they were all out in force hoping for the best from their appearances. But one thing that struck me was the attire of many people. Isn't court a place you would want to make the best impression possible? I understand not suiting up for traffic and other minor issues, but still put the old t-shirt that you wear as a night gown and sneakers away. And no, using the Bedazzler on your shirt does not make it classy. Even jeans are fine with a nice shirt, but stretch pants and a sleevless shirt on anyone that can remember disco is just wrong. And I'm not just talking about the gay guys.

Rest of the day was relaxing and catching up on reading and crosswords.

I'm amazed at what people will wear out in public!
