Opinion Piece That Makes You Think

I found this op-ed piece in the NY Times and found it a very interesting read, especially the last three paragraphs.

Basically it gives the historical value of a marriage license and how it has been used over the centuries.

So if the goal for gay people is "marriage" do we go thru the motions with churches who sanction it knowing what we have is a marriage and let the government and ignorant people catch up some day or do gay people re-write what the author seems to think are outdated rules of a piece of paper called a "license?"

Wow, what an interesting article from a historical perspective, and some very good questions raised.
On a differnt note altogehter I have to say that I heartily enjoyed and endorse the Dylan movie "I'm Not There". It had my rapt attention and ended too soon. I loved revisting periods in his life that brought me back to periods in my own. A fun flick, very imaginatively done.
