There's a song in Sonheim's musical Into the Woods - Children Will Listen - that makes the same point. There is one thing it makes very clearly - when you don't want them to be listening. It's the same thing with what they see. After so many years working with kids, I saw and heard all kinds of things. It's amazing that so many of us turn out all right with all of the stuff going on in the world that we see and hear.
