CRAP CRAP $107.50 CRAP CRAP

I just got a speeding ticket. CRAP. I was on my way home tonight from my third meeting of the day out in Wexford and got busted doing 77 in a 55 mph zone coming home on I-279. I did think I was in a 65 zone but apparently not.

The evil/nice officer did give me break in that instead of writing me up for speeding, he gave me a ticket for "non obedience to traffic control devices." And this was further explained on the ticket by "failed to obey posted speed limit sign." And of course he noted on the bottom "77/55" just for good measure.

Oddly, this is a nicer form of speeding in Pennsylvania because with this option the fine is the same, $107.50, but it is no points on your license unlike if he had written it as a regular speeding infraction. So he gave me a break on that which is good. But still.......CRAP.

Ok. First off I hate speeding tickets. Secondly, I am still bitter because 12 years ago I got a ticket for 85 in a 55 and got written up for the full amount. I am the only person I know that has gotten written up for the full amount. Granted it was reckless driving...but come on. I hate tickets.
It figures one of the first times you are out driving your car you get a ticket. Was anything accomplished at your meetings or was it a waste of time?

It was at a restauranr so we at least got drinks and appetizers out of it, but not worth it.

Brent fought the LAW and the ...LAW won. My one and only speeding ticket in 40 years of driving was racing to work in 1996 to get a prune paczki before they were all gone. It was worth it.

but did it affect your insurance? I'm curious as I received a similar violation recently.

I am now planning to move out of pennsylvania. Many roads here are built to land large aircraft and yet the speed limit is 55. Wtf.
