Monkeys are smarter than my coworkers

Seriously, some days dodging flying pooh would be better than dealing with some of my coworkers. Any monkey could get this latest issue right which involves an easy to understand checklist for opening and closing the bank branch.

This is the standard checklist that the entire bank uses with some customized items added by myself and our local regional managers for our affiliate. It is also a big audit issue, which I am responsible for. So long story short, people are just initialing that certain tasks are done when indeed they are not. This comes from laziness and getting too comfortable with routine. While repetative and tedious, this list is in place for compliance and security reasons. It is also not rocket science.

So after a couple issues came up recently that took up a lot of my time to fix as well as hearing from my higher up boss about the fact that if MY employees were following procedure these problems would not have occured.

--- JTFC ---(no help, you just have to be a fan of the movie Team America)

So I sent an office-wide email reinforcing the importance of taking this audit issue seriously. I proceeded to tell the fuckwits that from now on we will be using my new checklist and everything will need to be signed by two people. Further, anything signed for and not done properly would result in corrective counseling no matter what your position. I then instructed each person to print out the email, sign it, and give to me for placement in their personal file.

Then I took away the mid-afternoon banana break.

Did someone rob the bank?
Go Brent! It's not easy being a king of the jungle, but you sound like you know what you need to do to keep your clan (not sure of the word for a monkey family) in line.
But taking away their bananas sounds a bit extreme. =8-O

Just curious if anyone did NOT turn in the e-mail. That happens at my work all the time. OR they'll turn it in and then say they did not know about it. DUH!

Everyone was a bit taken aback by the tone of the email so they all quickly turned in their signed copies.

Sometimes it takes a little kick in the pants. Better a strong worded email than getting fired...

Yeah well next comes a kick in the teeth.

JTFC can be Googled. I remember you once sent us a full page memo. I don't remember the content but the spelling was perfect. Now toss me that poo ball.
