R I P
Alex became part of my family several years ago in Michigan. Adopted from a rescue shelter, she was kind of a loner but once she got used to you, she would grant you the priviledge of being in her company. When circumstances made me need to go live with friends for a bit, she went to my grandparents. It was funny at the time because my Grandma at first said no when I asked if she could come live for awhile, but just a little while later I got a call back saying it was ok. She just couldn't stand to tell one of her grandkids no. I saw her often until last November when I moved to Pittsburgh. I always heard from my Grandparents "guess what Alex did" when she did something cute, and "guess what your cat did" when she was a bit naughty. When I moved to my own place again in Michigan, I did not want to take her from the big old house with the huge yard and picture windows in which to sit and look at the birds, to bring her to a small apartment. She had found a home. I like to think she also helped make the house a little less empty for my Grandpa after my Grandmother's passing a few years ago. So there she stayed until her passing today. I will miss her. She was a good kitty.

I will miss Alex too-she always met me at the door when I went to Pa's. She did keep Pa company and gave him comfort when he was so sad and lonely. It is a sad day in Michigan...

Yes part of her charm was she liked to make you come to her instead of the other way around. Then every once in a while she would surprise you.

May she cross the rainbow bridge into kitty heaven where the sights and smells never cease. I will miss her sweet presence on Christmas eve.

Good pets are hard to let go of. I'm afraid Spencer is starting to show the signs. He's losing weight which for him is a BIG sign.

Spence has lived a full life. I have never seen another cat who you could massage with your feet for two hours.
