Glad the weekend is here
After working all day today, I had to go downtown to the Pittsburgh Convention Center to man the booth the bank set up at the annual Home and Garden Show. Everybody was encouraged to "volunteer" to work shifts at this weeklong event. I "volunteered" for the 7-10 shift. I had not been down to the convention center yet and was a bit apprehensive about driving down in rush hour and finding it and parking. Traffic was not too bad and I took a route that I had been down already but the parking deck was full so I had to bypass it. This meant that I wound up going down some streets that did not look familiar. So while I was looking up at the buildings as points of reference, I found myself heading back onto the freeway. Oops. So with no chance to turn around and head back, I had to go back to my Squirell Hill exit and head back into downtown again. At least I knew where to go heading into town. Parked a couple blocks away at a public lot for five bucks so that wasn't too bad. The show was full of people wandering around for the free give aways that the vendors hand out. Boooooring.
