Work = "sigh"

Before I complain too much about work, I will point out that working for my company here in Pittsburgh is way better than in Michigan. Not in terms of the people I worked with, because I made some great friends at my job in Michigan, but more in terms of corporate politics and peoples egos. It's just better here. I get along great with most of the people i have worked with so far. I realize that there will always be issues in any job that annoy you or frustrate you. For me and many of my coworkers, especially at the bar after work, venting is a good release. So here goes.
(feel free to break for a montage if your eyes start to gloss over by clicking here)

I am currently in a quandry about what I should do, if anything about the attitude of my co-managers. There is a lot of negativity among them right now. They are frustrated with how their jobs are turning out. I figure they are experiencing a little regret about leaving their former employer. I do not have too much sympathy for them, because I do not see any effort on their part to meet the challenges head on. We have a brand new branch and that is a great opportunity. A new branch means very low goals and a whole community that wants to check you out. But they seem way too focused on how things were different at their old jobs and make negative comments on a regular basis. Now, I am in charge of the staff including their development and morale. How the hell can I do my job and build business at the branch if these two incompetant yentas cannot be self aware enough to realize that the example they set is unprofessional and detrimental to the business and its employees. I also do not want to become associated with the reputations they are building for themselves. My courses of action include bringing it up to them directly, or to my bosses, or have to work twice as hard to overcome their damage and let them take part in successes that they do not deserve but would be recognized for by association. I won't let anyone else make me look bad, I won't go down with a sinking ship, and nobody will take credit for my work even in the name of "teamwork."

I go with direct communication and if they don't hear it, go above. I will bring the FISH video TOMORROW (YEA!!)-it is a great thing for morale and teamwork and very fun besides. If it works for 65 woman, it's gotta work there, right? right? Think PMS...

Thanks, but I don't want to think PMS.
