Speak into the microphone please

While testifying before a senate committee on electronic eavesdropping, Atty General Alberto Gonzales used past presidents as precedent for what Dubya has been doing. He cited the electronic surveillance used by Presidents Washington, Lincoln, Wilson, and Roosevelt.

What the hell kind of electronic means could George Washington have used? And why did he leave Nixon off the list? Perhaps because Nixon was Republican and the sole reason FISA ( foreign intelligence survelliance act, note the word foreign, not american) was enacted to keep innocent Americans, individuals and peaceful groups, from being spied on? Even that law gives the Feds 72 hours after the covert surveillance to get warrants. So why not get them if for just purposes? Selective memory and reasoning is a powerful propaganda tool. It’s right up there with scapegoats and using 9/11 as an excuse for everything.
