Pittsburgh week one

The week has gotten off to a good start. The number of boxes and packing rubbish is slowly going down in my apartment. The newly purchased bookcases, glass display case, and TV stand are all put together and waiting for the arrival of the couch in order to find their final spots in the room. The new area rug is in place and the kitchen set up. I love having wood floors. I am not really walking around the apartment as much as I am sliding. No I have not done the Tom Cruise underwear slide/dance .... yet. I now also have my parking space in a heated garage. The cable TV and Internet access was also installed today. Everything is coming together fairly smoothly as I prepare to start work next week.

With a new urban attitude, I set out to explore the neighborhood the last couple days while doing needed errands. It was a lot of walking, but I love how I can walk to everything I need such as groceries, meals, banks, library, movie theater, and coffee shops. I love the pace. It works out perfect for my goal of getting at least a little exercise everyday. I even bypass the elevator in my building for the stairs. I guess that is easier to do when you live on the fourth floor opposed to the ninth.

As Grace says, I am now a Pittsburger.

Welcome to Pittsburgh, you Pittsburger!!! :-) That's so cute!
Glad to hear all's going well. I have to say I haven't heard anyone get quite so excited about a couch before. Too funny!!!

Wait until he starts talking about his ironed tshirts :)

Grace, you have to overcome your fear of irons. I am here for you, just admit your problem and we will get through it, one day at a time.
