He just gets more crazy as time goes on

Tell it to your viewers all you want, preach it in church, buy an ad in a newspaper, or yell it from a mountain top, but teaching religion in schools made up of students and teachers of all backgrounds does not make sense. PUBLIC schools need to prepare students for the future whether they are headed to college, joining the military, or entering the workforce. They should not be in the business of forwarding one religion, or any religion, over another. There is a time and place for religious studies and one for academic studies. PUBLIC grade school is not the place for religious studies. It is also not the place to force any one view, not backed up by facts, on anyone. At least evolution has some scientific basis making it a subject to be touched on in school.

Pat Robertson makes my skin crawl.

To quote Tina Fey of SNL, "34% of Americans think Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs to church".

I take the other side of the road. I don't see the harm in offering other theories. There are many scientific "holes" in both theories because everyone knows that nobody knows what happened. I feel most scientists have an ego problem in the fact that they let their pride get into the way of them admitting that they really don't know how it works. I do agree Pat Robertson stepped over the line. He should have just said nothing and let what happens happen.

I see what you are saying. I just think that with so many different religions and the diversity of the population and backgrounds in public schools, religion is best left at home, church, and to the parents. It would be impossible to teach about all religions and atheism. And if you do one in public schools, all the others need to be included.

Our children are in a public school and we're happy with that. But, when I see people pulling Christmas songs that mention Jesus, our Saviour, Christ, or any other description of God from childrens' plays, etc. because of someone being offended and then turn around and make sure that every other religion is recognized...that's what makes my skin crawl. I agree with PUBLIC schools offering a little something of every theory, idea, religion, whatever. But don't alienate the Christian religion and promote another. Pat Robertson did make an idiotic comment...but don't let him be the example at which PUBLIC school, or what should or shouldn't be offered, is judged upon.
